Can be sung to the tune of "The Yellow Rose of Texas"
She's not beautiful, dear Catherine
Or so the world might say
But there's beauty deep within her
And it bubbles through all day
She's so innocent, so childlike
Yet she really is no fool
She is cheery, open hearted
And she's honest as a rule
And yet modest, unaffected
Placing everyone above her
No heroine of, a gothic tale
To know her is to love her
She may not be the brightest star
By Henry's crisp mind
But she's not slow to understand
And so very warm and kind
Inequality, of mental powers
May some couples set apart
Yet reason cannot bring them joy
But what is in the heart
Yet reason cannot bring them joy
But what is in the heart
